Hello dear friends,

Great Leap is finally getting our interfaith theater piece onstage for the community to see how this can further the interaction between people of faith. ?I humbly invite you to be with us and to relay this to your friends. ?We look forward to your responses to this offering. ?We hope this will be the leaping point into churches, synagogues, temples, mosques, where we want to perform this to interfaith audiences. ?

Thank your for your interest and support in this project and look forward to seeing you March 8 or 9.

In Peace,?
Nobuko Miyamoto

It's that time of year again when a few of us (about 12 so far) will be riding in the LA Marathon (March 2nd)to raise funds for Great Leap,  others will be doing the 5k walk and one runner as of this date.  The bike ride is 23 miles, sponsors can donate whatever they can afford.  This year marks Great Leap's 30th anniversary, quite an accomplishment in today's environment where monies are short for the arts.  Nobuko, Dan Kwong, and Young Ae Park are currently working on Collaboratory V, a project bringing emerging performance artists together in a series of workshops culminating in a performance of story telling, movement, and music.  The focus of this Colaboratory is on interfaith, bringing people together of different faiths to share their stories.  George Abe from Senshin is part of this workshop, so don't miss his performance.  The performances will be Saturday and Sunday March 8th and 9th at the Democracy Center in Little Tokyo.  I'll follow up with more details when available.  Nobuko is also working on her own piece "What Can a Song Do", bringing together her long history as a performer and hoping to inspire more youth to follow her path.  She will be traveling around the country with this piece starting in the spring.

So please help me raise funds for this great organization, e-mail me and let me know, again any amount will help.  And if you donated at the end of last year, I know this might be too close to your last donation so I'll understand.

Thanks,

Mike Yanagita
